Yes. Paste or share a link from TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, YouTube, Facebook, or any ordinary website, and Juxtah reads the content and finds the places mentioned in it. You then pick which ones to keep — nothing is saved to your map unless you choose it.
Yes. Juxtah runs in the background and sends a push notification when you come near somewhere on your list. You don't have to open the app or remember to check a map — the alert finds you.
No. Proximity alerts are part of the free tier, not a paid add-on. The free tier does cap how many places you can save and how many links you can extract per month; Juxtah Premium lifts those limits. The alerts themselves are never the thing behind the paywall.
Most apps in this space do one of two things. Some extract places from links and social posts, but only give you a map you have to remember to open. Others alert you when you're nearby, but make you add every place by hand or from a photo — and several put those alerts behind a subscription.
Juxtah does both halves: it pulls the places out of a link for you, and then actively tells you when you're near one. Without charging for the alert.
Any web page or social post it can read text from — travel blogs, best-restaurants listicles, Reddit threads, TikTok videos, Instagram posts, YouTube videos. If a page has no readable text, there is nothing to extract from, and Juxtah will tell you rather than fail quietly.
Your location is used to power nearby alerts and to show distances to your saved places. It is not sold and not shared with third parties, and Juxtah shows no ads. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings, and delete your account and all its data from inside the app.
